They will all miss their much loved grandfather and great-grandfather, but your message has provided great comfort at this difficult time.” The thank-you note bears a black border, which the royal family uses on its official stationary during a period of mourning, and enclosed was a photo of Philip in his military uniform. When he died, Kate and William posted a picture of a two-year-old Prince George being taken for a carriage ride with his great-grandfather. In the sweet phoot, which was snapped in Norfolk in 2015 by Kate, Philip holds the horses’ reins and a whip in his hands while beside him on the carriage seat George has a picture book spread on his lap and is wearing a very cute blue Icelandic jumper.
