Now the new Queen Camilla has posed for a picture with the soft toys for the sweetest reason! The bears—more than one thousand of them—have been professionally cleaned and will be donated to charity. In the picture, Camilla hugs a bear on her lap while others are arranged on the sofa beside her. The caption on Instagram reads, “Please look after this bear." It goes on, “The Queen Consort is pictured with some of the 1,000 teddy bears that were left in tribute to Queen Elizabeth, and will shortly find new loving homes with @barnardos_uk children’s services. The bears have been scrubbed up to look their best, before they are delivered to their new home. “The bears are currently being well looked after at Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and in the Royal Parks nursery located in Hyde Park. “The photograph was taken by @chrisjacksongetty at Clarence House on 13 October 2022 - the 64th anniversary of the publication of the first Paddington bear book.” The quote ‘Please look after this bear’ is a reference to the label around Paddington’s neck when he traveled from Deepest Darkest Peru and was rescued from Paddington train station by the Brown family. The queen and Paddington starred together in a TV sketch that was released during the queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations this summer, which marked the monarch’s 70 years on the throne.
