Marvel has been churning out shows on Disney+ for some time now, some of them limited series, like Wandavision, and others coming back for another round, like Loki. The Ms. Marvel comic source material from Bisha K. Ali definitely leaves room for future adventures and installments of the show. As a result, we are waiting with bated breath to find out which category Ms. Marvel will fall into. Here is everything we know so far about Ms. Marvel Season 2!
Will there be a second season of Ms. Marvel?
Ms. Marvel has not yet been renewed for a second season. However, it has not been set in stone that it is a limited series either—though it has been billed as such. Giving us hope for another season, Ms. Marvel writer and executive producer Sana Amanat talked to ScreenRant about her own hope for a second outing. “It is laid out as a limited series for her to go off and do other things. Like, it certainly establishes [her as a hero]. She will be going into The Marvels next, so that’s kind of there. But I will say, I really hope that she is a part … you know, I hope we get a Season 2 is all I’m gonna say. I hope we’re a part of that.” Add to this the fact that Iman Vellani herself is a huge fan of the Ms. Marvel comics and would almost certainly jump at the chance to continue the series. With Vellani likely on board, a second season could easily happen. Considering the fact that Ms. Marvel currently has the highest Rotten Tomatoes score of any MCU outing (film or TV), with a 98% from critics, plus an 82% audience approval score, odds are good that Marvel will want to renew the show for a second season to capitalize on this success. What is the Ms. Marvel season 2 release date?
As previously stated, it is not yet known whether there will be a second season of Ms. Marvel. However, we do know that Iman Vellani is set to appear as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in the highly anticipated upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, which is set to premiere on July 28, 2023. As a result, it is very likely that the second season of Ms. Marvel would not premiere until after the release of The Marvels. That would put the earliest possible release date for the potential second installment of Ms. Marvel in August 2023. That is just speculation as the MCU does try to keep us on our toes. How many episodes will be in Ms. Marvel Season 2?
We still do not yet know if there will be a second season of Ms. Marvel. But, if the series does get renewed, we can imagine it would have a similar structure to the first season. As the first season had six episodes, it is likely any future seasons would also consist of six episodes. However, this is just speculation as a second season for any Disney+ MCU show has yet to be released (not counting the ones that originally premiered on Netflix—you thought you had us there, didn’t you?). Marvel Studios/Disney As soon as we have more information about the episode count for Ms. Marvel Season 2, we will let you know. Check back here for updated information!
What is the plot for Ms. Marvel Season 2?
Again, as we do not know if the series will be renewed for a second season, we cannot know for sure what the plot would be. However, we can imagine the second season would potentially pick up some of the threads left by the ending of the first, including Kamran’s fate, their ongoing struggle with Damage Control, and Kamala’s mutation (did anyone else squeal with nerdy glee at this reveal?! We’re finally getting mutants in the MCU!). As we already know — —and was cleverly set up by that end credits scene featuring a cameo from Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) herself—Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will be appearing in 2023’s Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, so we can imagine a second season of the series would be influenced by the events of the movie as well. In an interview with The Direct, Kareem actor Aramis Knight revealed his hope for a possible Season 2 plotline. “I definitely think that there’s a possibility that Kareem makes it into the states. That’s obviously not my call… but I personally would love to be involved with, you know, everyone… and I think it’s certainly a possibility, but we’ll have to wait and see. First, we need a green light for season two and then yeah, then we can start to speculate.” As more details about the plot for Ms. Marvel season 2 are released, check back for updates!
Is there a trailer for Ms. Marvel Season 2?
Because Ms. Marvel has not yet been renewed for a second season, there is no trailer for Season 2. Considering that Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel is next appearing in The Marvels, releasing on July 28, 2023, a trailer for Ms. Marvel season 2 is unlikely to arrive before then. When more information about a second season trailer for Ms. Marvel is released, we will update this answer. Keep checking back!
Who will be in the Ms. Marvel Season 2 cast?
We do not know if Ms. Marvel Season 2 is happening. However, if the series does get renewed, we can imagine most of the main and recurring cast would be back. Of course, a second season of the series would not be possible without Ms. Marvel herself, Iman Vellani, so she is a given for any future installments of the show. Here is who we anticipate returning:
Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
Matt Lintz as Bruno
Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan
Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan
Yasmeen Fletcher as Nakia
Rish Shah as Kamran
Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan
Travina Springer as Tyesha
Aramis Knight as Kareem/Red Dagger
Laurel Marsden as Zoe
Arian Moayed as DODC Agent Cleary
Laith Nakli as Sheikh Abdullah
Because she was relieved of her position at Damage Control at the end of the season finale, it is up in the air if we would be seeing DODC Agent Sadie Deever (Alysia Reiner) in any future installments of the show. Also, we may see characters come into the series from the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, in which Iman Vellani will be reprising her role. We will update this section with more casting details as they are announced! Next, check out all the new movies and TV shows coming to Disney+ in July 2022, including America the Beautiful.
