So we were delighted that last night she had the chance to let her hair down (literally!) at the Global Citizen Live Concert in Central Park last night, at which she andPrince Harryadvocated for vaccine equity. Wearing her hair in a loose ponytail with gentle waves of hair around her face, the Duchess of Sussex looked simply stunning in a $5400 embellished white shift dress by Valentino. And how cute is it that Meghan also wore her wedding earrings for the event? By wearing her Cartier diamond studs, Meghan paid tribute to the beginnings of a sometimes tumultuous journey that has culminated in the Sussexes’ appearance on the world stage, calling on world leaders to do more. “Look,” Meghan told the crowd, “we know that it feels like this pandemic has been going on forever. It is a lot and some people are just over it. But, if everyone’s over it, it’s never going to be over.” She went on to say, “Every single person on this planet has a fundamental right to get this vaccine. That’s the point, but that’s not happening.” She added, “It is wrong that so much of the vaccine supply has only gone to just 10 wealthy nations so far, and not everyone else. It’s just not OK.” Meanwhile, Harry said that many countries are ready to produce their own vaccines, but they can’t—“because ultra-wealthy pharmaceutical companies are not sharing the recipes to make them, adding, “These countries have the means, the ability and the workers to start manufacturing. All they’re waiting for is the vaccine intellectual property to be waived and for the vaccine technology to be transferred over.” He went on, “So, global citizens, we ask you tonight, do you think we should start treating access to the vaccine as a basic human right? “When we start making decisions through that lens, where every single person deserves equal access to the vaccine, then we can achieve what is needed together, for all of us.” Performers at the concert included Lizzo, Coldplay and Jennifer Lopez.
