The premiere, fittingly held on a Wednesday, saw the cast exploring styles that fell in line with the show’s darker themes. Ortega was dressed to kill, enchanting in a goth bride inspired look, complete with a black lace veil, which she said felt “appropriate.” The glamorous gown was part of the Versace spring/summer 2023 collection and featured a bralette with lace sides and a hip-high slit. When asked about the look, the You alum told Entertainment Tonight, “I felt like if I was gonna wear black like everyone else, I probably should make a deal out it.” She continued: “I put it on and I just knew that this is probably what I should do. I think [Wednesday] would appreciate the veil.” In the Addams Family spinoff, Ortega tackles the role of teen Wednesday Addams, who is enrolled in Nevermore Academy, a place full of secrets and dark forces. Per the official synopsis: “Wednesday Addams attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.” Hailing from the brilliant mind of director Tim Burton, Ortega is joined by a star-studded cast, including Catherine Zeta Jones (Morticia Addams) and Luis Guzman (Gomez Addams). Christina Ricci, who starred as the original Wednesday in the 1991 comedy, will take on the role of Ms. Thornhill. She attended the premiere in a Rodarte fall/winter 2020 archival metallic tulle tiered gown that had a beaded spider on the front. The supernatural series is set to hit Netflix on November 23.
