Kate arrived at a special drive-in screening of Disney’s Cruella in Edinburgh wearing a long tartan coat trench coat by Holland and Cooper, featuring a plaid print in jewel tones of purple, blue and green. And lots and lots of gold buttons! The 100% wool coat features a buckled belt at the waist and cute little mini-buckles at the wrists. Kate seems to have carefully curated the rest of her look around the coat’s play of colors: forest-green velvet stilettos, a gold metallic skirt, and beautiful blue sapphire earrings loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II (perfectly shown off by the duchess’s swept-back ponytail.) Kate and Prince William were the evening’s hosts, and were on hand to welcome National Health Service staff to the special screening of Cruella by way of thanks for their vital work during the COVID-19 pandemic. After thanking the queen for allowing them to host a drive-in movie night at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Kate concluded, “William and I invite you to grab your popcorn, cuddle up under your blankets and be transported to 1970s Britain for an evening of much-deserved fun, drama, glamour and escapism.” For the screening of Cruella the moviegoers in their parked cars were joined by the duke and duchess, who watched the movie from the cab of a 1966 Land Rover that previously belonged to William’s grandfather Prince Philip.
