Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend are adding to their family, as Teigen took to Instagram to announce the news that they are expecting. On Wednesday, the former Lip Sync Battle co-host posted a few snaps of her growing baby belly along with her sentiments regarding her newest pregnancy journey. “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way,” she wrote. Teigen continued: “Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!” In the informal announcement photos, the Cravings author appeared in sheer high-waist Gucci underwear and a black cropped tee, explaining both her excitement and anxiety to be carrying a new baby. Her 2020 IVF journey resulted in a pregnancy that eventually ended in a devastating miscarriage due to complications. Earlier this year, Teigen shared she was trying again to conceive, and was in the process of undergoing another round of IVF. “I posted about it in my stories, but I wanted to let you guys know I’m balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggos as I possibly can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos,” she confirmed via Instagram in February. After divulging the news, she requested that fans not ask her about the status or how the process was going at that point. “I honestly don’t mind the shots…they make me feel like a doctor/chemist…but the bloating is a bitch, so I humbly beg you to stop asking if I’m pregnant because while I know it’s said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant!” she explained. Teigen, 36, and Legend, 43, currently share two children: daughter Luna, 5, and son Miles, 3. In 2020, the couple announced their third pregnancy in the singer’s “Wild” music video, displaying Legend cradling his wife’s then-growing bump. A few weeks later, however, Chrissy sadly miscarried the little boy, who they’d decided to name Jack. At the time, she was about midway through the pregnancy. “To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you,” Chrissy penned of the earth-shattering loss. “Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.” Over the years, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model has been extremely open about her fertility journey and struggles, hoping to help remove the stigma attached to women and conversations surrounding conceiving.
