According to the official statement on the FDA website, people allergic to eggs run the risk of severe or life-threatening adverse reactions if they consume these products. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the candy (which contains eggs) was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of the allergen. Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The recalled candy corn was distributed in Massachusetts and Connecticut at the following locations:
